I want to share some feedback for the league.
Championships: In particular, I want to give Kudos to the league for the Championship finals games at the MYSA fields in Lancaster. The grass fields were fantastic to play on and it really felt like they elevated the championship games and level of play and it was much better than playing on a turf field, so if we use that complex again please make sure we play on the grass fields.
I would say the only negative about the complex was the police coming by the parking lot and not letting us have a beer to celebrate our championship after the game. We were clearly separated and out of the way from all the Youth games, so not sure if you can get them allow us to tailgate after the games if we use the facility in the future?
Trophies are my one gripe. Not in the trophies themselves but that the league did not make the effort to actually put a face plate on each trophy to say what it was for. A trophy without saying "OTHSL 2024 Fall Season O55 Division 1 Champions" is not really a trophy, it just becomes a paperweight. If it doesn't say what the trophy is for it therefore has no meaning when you display it.
I don't know if this was an oversight, laziness or lack of budget. If it is lack of budget, then just add a dollar or two onto the league fee and that should cover the cost. If it is laziness, I don't understand that one, since you could arguably order 99% of the trophies at the start of the year, for both the Spring and Fall seasons, since you effectively know all of the Age groups and Divisions that will have a Championship at the start of the year. Plus, you can include the custom face plates stating what the trophy was awarded for spring and fall season. It should basically be a standing order each year with a few exceptions when you add or subtract divisions within an age group. If it was an oversight, are you planning then on shipping face plates to all of the champion managers so they can affix them to the trophy?
Rosters - I wanted to drop some players from my roster today that did not play this season and will not be returning in the spring but MASS Registration does not even let me drop players because it says the "rosters might be frozen", So when can I start dropping players to make room for future players I want to add in the spring.
