It is with great sadness that I write to tell you that our dear friend and clarinet colleague has passed away. Some of you may already know and there will be a notice sent by OCCB, so I apologise if you receive multiple emails, but Sarah, his daughter who I just spoke to, wanted his clarinet friends to know. She said how much the clarinet and band meant to him.

There will be a wake on monday and a service on tuesday. I will forward the details when I receive them.

It is indeed sad to hear such news. I never knew Mike Billows but I certainly knew OF HIM since I too am a former clarinetist (although after Mike's time) of the Ottawa Technical High School Band. My sincerest and deep felt condolences to those who knew him.
