The New York Enthusiasts was an adult educational organization active from 1938 to 1984. The club's aim was to offer educational outings, lectures, and other opportunities in art, theatre, dance, politics, and history. The club's magazine, ZIG ZAG, was published from July 1946 until May 1963. During that time, the Enthusiasts attended many dance productions in the city and the greater New York area. The New York Enthusiasts were directed by Hans Hacker from the early 1940s through the late 1950s. As director, Hacker organized outings for the group and solicited articles and advertisements for ZIG ZAG.
The New York Enthusiasts dance files (1951-1957) hold Hacker's correspondence with dance groups, schools, and presenters arranging for performance tickets, backstage tours and class visits, and advertisement in the groups magazine, ZIG ZAG. Correspondents include La Meri, Martha Graham Dance Company, Metropolitan Opera Ballet School, and the Country Dance Society, among many others.
July 22, 2002 -- Students attending the University of Wyoming's Snowy Range Summer Dance festival will perform a free concert Wednesday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.
The students, who range from junior high to adult, are participating in a challenging 11 day study of dance on the UW campus. Wednesday's concert will feature new works choreographed by festival students.
Dance festival students attend daily classes including stretch, pilates, ballet (3 levels), pointe, modern (3 levels involving technique, styles, improvisation and composition), jazz (3 levels), tap (3 levels), repertoire classes and workshops.
Ty Tedmon, dance festival assistant director and UW Department of Theatre and Dance alumnus, has participated regularly in the festival. "One of the greatest experiences for a college age dancer is to work with the incredible and talented guest artists who teach at this festival," he says. "Not only has this given me the opportunity to work with artists in the studio, but also make friendships and connections which will continue throughout my career."
The concert series concludes Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by Tony Coppola, Jay Franke, and John Pennington (with students in repertoire by Cameron Basden, Peter Pucci, Franke, Pennington, and Coppola).

My name is Jan and I'm from Sweden. I'm converting and creating Dance/Trance styles to Yamaha PSR-S910, PSR-S750/PSR-S950, Tyros3, and Tyros4. I've been playing keyboard since I was 14. My first keyboard was a little brown thing called Yamaha porta sound.
First of all, you have to understand all those different parameters in the STYLE CREATOR, how they work together as NTR (Note Transposition Rule), NTT (Note Transposition Table), High Key, Note Limit, and RTR (Retrigger Rule).
(Oct 2013) The conversion of Euro Dance Pack was very time consuming. First of all, I extracted and converted the YEP-files, and revoiced all the channels. Next, the most difficult part, I created all the drums from scratch, and finally I mixed everything properly.
(Oct 2013) The Custom Dance and Trance Collection includes 27 new styles. All styles have Drum-fill-ins, Break, Intros and Endings, and also 4 OTS settings. Keep in mind that some styles with 2 Intros and 2 Endings are Custom made. This means that the Intro II, and Ending II, are playable in many (not all) different chords, but Intro III, and Ending III are locked to the original song chords. For example: The style EthnoHouse is made from the song "Stereo Love" with Edward Maya. So the Intro III, and Ending III is only playing the original chords of the song (C#m).
Another thing to keep in mind is that the two styles named Rekenium2 and RekeniumDance, have the ArabicMixturekit in drumchannel 2 (Rhytm2). The Tyros 3 and Tyros 4 do not have that kit. So, I remade the drums and renamed them with T3 in the end. I also custom changed the parameters for the effects in the Bass for the RazorDance style. (Note: You can check out Jan playing his Dance styles on his YouTube channel.)

This course uses lecture, seminar and some experiential components to invite interdisciplinary critical thinking about major trends in western classical art history as seen in twentieth and twenty-first century western concert dance and in cinema.
Students will do readings, viewings, writing and engage in discussions about the lives, historical contexts and works of eight contemporary dancemakers. These aspects of coursework will help us to engage in critical thinking to find connections between major trends in art history, dance choreography and popular cinema. The class will involve group discussions, selected primary materials regarding reception of dancemakers in their time, reading critical theory, group viewings of contemporary films, formal and informal written reflections and a final project.
As a student, peer and human being in this department, we hope that you feel safe, respected and that you have a voice. If you see or experience a situation that makes you feel unsafe or disrespected--or if you witness this happening in our community--we hope you'll feel comfortable voicing your experience. The Department of Dance is actively practicing listening and responding to you and your peers. For information about how to voice a concern or complaint, see this link: _for_concern.pdf

The sparkly bag has been sitting in the house for a month and almost went back to the store a few times, before I realized it would be the perfect bag for my little friend Stella to store all of her ballet accessories.

Basically WAV files are very large, but sound great. You may not be able to send them via email but large file transfer software like Dropbox work just fine. MP3 files are quite small but may be unacceptable in sound quality. Having a WAV file with an MP3 backup would be safe.
