It does not have cabin announcements, but it does rate your flights/landings. You get penalized for excessive banks/G-forces etc. It can generate failures depending on aircraft and engine condition.
Also, the economic part and aircraft maintenance are more detailled than in FSP.
I have previously dismissed OnAir as it seemed focussed on airliners. I spend most time bush flying. Dont think any of the other current career addons has random or usage based failures. Its what I miss most about fspassengers. I have tried getting into neofly multiple times but the lack of failures is a deal breaker.
I've been with XP for about a year now, but I'm not aware of any cabin/company management utility similar to FSCaptain for XPlane. While I don't like the FSPassengers style of program where you play both flight attendant and pilot (serve meals, play music, etc), I'm really interested in what FSCaptain does, which is essentially to put you in a real-world airline operating environment where you have to deal with passenger issues, cabin temp, company restrictions, dispatch, etc. IMO, it's much more realistic to simulate every-day restrictions and annoyances all pilots must deal with, rather than simply setting the sim-based failures that many pilots will never experience in their entire careers. To my knowledge nothing like this exists for XP yet, freeware or payware, but it would be great if someone could prove me wrong and point me in the direction of software like this, whether released or in development.
I am like you with FS Captain. I like the stand alone intelligent ACARs system that it brings to the sim. Especially where you can do multiple flights and get rated base on how well your able to perform. Although it seems almost inconceivable how your able to complete one flight let alone two, with the VAS memory issue I had with FSX. That was the reason while I gave X plane a try and left FSX alone.
Back in July I chimed in on an ongoing thread making the case for a FScaptain version for Xplane. The original post was making the case but ran out of steam, But, developers response was that they are not closed to the idea. They need to see differences between the two sims in order to evaluate how much work it take to actual do a version.
I would like to see FS Captain come to X plane as well. The failure that are generate with the application would not be necessary since X plane has those built into the sim. It seem to me it would be less work than trying the re invent the wheel, but I would let them figure that out.
Good news! We currently have a project underway which will include all of the features listed above and more! We plan to include a multiplayer VA, more accurate expenses, and other more modern features unheard of in the flight simming industry! Stay tuned for more details, but we plan to release this project around April with the name being "MCP-Passengers".
