Dear Otaku Illustrated Subscriber,
Today, I'll continue talking about verb groups. Now the Irregular verbs are perhaps the easiest ones to learn because there are only two Irregular verbs in all of Japanese, suru which means to do and kuru which means to come. They don't follow any kind of rules so you simply have to know them. They combine with other words, particularly action nouns to change their meanings. Good examples are how kekkon, "marriage" changes to "to marry" when suru is added to it to make it kekkonsuru and how motte, "something" changes to"to bring something" when kuru is added to it making it mottekuru.

Today I will continue with the geographic reason for why the majority of the Japanese live in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. Another trick that Japan has tried to solve it's declining population problem is to pay young people to move to the dying towns and marry the locals. The backlash was immediate as being told to move to places where they will have no jobs, no friends, no family, no future to marry complete strangers made the young Japanese feel like they were being treated like sex playthings. So this had a success rate of 0%. I'll be continuing with another solution that Japan is trying next week.
