Dear Otaku Illustrated Subscriber,

So continuing on with the topic of ordering in a Japanese restaurant, this next one is Gochisousama deshita.  Now this one is very similar to Itadakimasu, but rather than before you eat the meal this is used to express gratitude for the meal after you've eaten it.

So now that I've finished with the things that you shouldn't do in Japan for the foreseeable future, I decided to now move on to crazy events that I recently heard about in Japan.  Apparently it rained tadpoles in Ishikawa, Japan back in 2009.  And they later on found out that it wasn't just tadpoles, people were finding piles of frogs, fish, worms, and even snakes on the ground instead of puddles.  I'll go into the theories behind it in the next edition to avoid making this email too long.

So still on the Studio Ghibli kick, I found another one that I'm most definitely looking forward to checking out ASAP.  I remember it was around the time that I first heard about this one that I heard about Hayao Miyazaki deciding to retire, so for a long time I thought this was his last film.  Sure glad I was wrong about that, but that just made me want it even more.  So if you're looking forward to checking out this one for the first time like I am, or if you'd simply like to upgrade to the steelbook edition, we can both pre - order ours below:
