So continuing with animals, I will continue with the next name for a cat.  The next cat that we'll be talking about is the playful cat, which is known as the ochame neko.

So continuing with Japan's food challenges, the first one that I'll be talking about is the extreme noodle challenge that takes place in the city of Morioka in the Iwate prefecture.  It's called Wanko Soba and the challenge is to eat as many bowls of soba noodles as you can.  Though the bowls only have enough noodles for about a single mouthful, the average that a regular adult male can eat is 100 bowls.  The way they keep count is by giving you an empty bowl, filling your bowl by pouring the noodles into it from another bowl that's full of noodles, and then placing the now empty bowl on the table in front of you, stacking them up to 15 at a time.  And even though you're only eating little shots, you can't help feeling like a fat-ass watching the empty bowls stack up in front of you.  Apparently, the milestones are at 15 bowls you're considered a person, at 60 bowls you're at least a male, and at 100 bowls you're a man.  And you're even awarded with a charm and a certificate  to commemorate your achievement when you reach 100 bowls.  At the time that the research that I found was created, the record was 530 bowls for guys and 570 bowls for females.  And the only reason the females was higher is because the lady who came in and ate 570 bowls was a very highly skilled professional food fighter.  Which actually makes the guy who walked in and smacked down 530 bowls even more impressive because he was not skilled or a professional food guy or anything else like that, he was just a regular person!
