Help required - expression of interest in three volunteer positions

Kia ora Koutou,

Dunedin Orienteering Club committee is looking for volunteers to help us with this year's events and at our meetings.

We are seeking any and all expressions of interest in helping with three tasks:

A minute secretary at our monthly committee meetings (can be done in person (at the PE school) or online via Goggle meets) - Tuesday 7-9pm

Planners and controllers for our upcoming events, especially the school series scheduled for term 2 (May and June).  We also have a few low-key, fun events which are perfect for a novice or junior planner - our annual Vampire O, for example.

• Please see this draft calendar of events and put your name against an event you are interested in.
• We will support anyone who would like help, by putting an experienced planner or controller alongside you to mentor and support you as required.
• We can also run a session on how to use the planning software for anyone interested on request.
• Planning events helps you with your orienteering as you will start to understand what planners think about when setting events.

Anyone interested in organising events and being part of our new event organising committee?

• This is a new sub-committee who will be responsible for determining what events we will hold over the year and where they will be held.
• May involve supporting the planner and controller with logistics so events run smoothly
• This group will also support our club training and social events throughout the year.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about any of these positions.

Orienteering events require a lot of time from volunteers.  The more people who support us, the more quality events we can hold.  Many hands make light work as they say.
