Information about the Long Distance event can be found attached to this email, and via the homepage of Otago Orienteering

In addition to the Long Distance event on the Sunday, there will be 2 events on  Saturday 27th June.  OY Sprint#3, and a novelty evening event, making for a Waikouaiti Weekend of events. Information about these Saturday events will be forthcoming.  Entries will be via a separate form.

We are grateful to private landowners for permitting the Long Distance event to be held on their farmland, which has outstanding coastal vistas.  But it will be a midwinter event, with risk of very cold coastal winds or fog.  There are specific details about clothing requirements and particular course challenges, so please ensure you read this information before entering via the form link below.

Entries are now open for this event here.  Entries close midnight Monday 22nd June.

Any particular queries, please contact me by Reply, NOT Reply All, or your message will go to 400+ recipients of this club-wide Google email group.

Ngā mihi

Jeni Pelvin, Controller for the Long Distance event.

Entries will close for the Sunday Long Distance event at midnight on Monday 22nd June. You can enter  here.

Information about this event can be found attached to this email, and via the homepage of Otago Orienteering

We require volunteers to help make the Sunday event enjoyable and fair to the schools' competitors in particular.  Please look at the attached List of Duties for the day, and contact Ann Bixley, Organiser     ann.bixleybot  at   gmail.com      if you can assist in any way.  Note the timing requirements in the event information which mean that Club members will not be able to start their courses until after a certain time.

In addition to the Long Distance event on the Sunday, there will be 2 fun events on Saturday 27th June.  Details and the separate entry forms for them, are via our homepage.

There is a late change to the format of the Schools' Champs.  The team organising the Saturday Sprint (and rogaine) have decided the Sprint will not be of a suitable calibre to make for a Schools Champs Sprint event.  Therefore, the Schools' Championship titles & trophies will be awarded based on performances in the Sunday Long Distance event only. This event is OYClassic#3 for the Club OY series.

We are grateful to private landowners for permitting the Long Distance event to be held on their farmland, which has outstanding coastal vistas.  But it will be a midwinter event, with risk of very cold coastal winds or fog.  There are specific details about clothing requirements and particular course challenges, so please ensure you read this information before entering via the form.

Any particular queries pertaining to the Sunday event only, please contact me by Reply, NOT Reply All, or your message will go to 400+ recipients of this club-wide Google email group.
