Tēnā koutou
Thanks to those who organised and attended our School Series orientation / Have-A-Go event at Chingford Park today, followed by our annual AGM.
After our recent 50 year Jubilee club celebrations, we formally changed our name to Otago Orienteering, to better reflect our wider Otago member base. Over time, we'll amend our logo slightly, and update our branding. If you enter national level orienteering events, you'll eventually choose OT as your club, not DN.
OUR NEXT EVENT
On the middle Saturday of the upcoming school holidays, on
Saturday 11th April, we are holding an event across the area currently being run by the DCC as the
Active Travel Trial - the closure of a section of Queens Drive. Usually we are very conscious of planning courses that avoid road crossings, particularly across Queens Dr - but for this event we can cross back and forth safely many times.
The Trial closes on 19th April, so this weekend is our last chance to utilise this new recreational opportunity in our beautiful Town Belt.
NOTE THE SATURDAY DATE.
Start times are from 11am-12.30pm. Course closure 2pm. 3 courses; Hard 4.2km, Medium 2.3km, Easy 1.2km. Courses planned by Craig Pelvin, controlled by Ann Bixley.
Register here by midnight Tuesday 7th July.
