Hello,

I installed OSXFUSE and Macfusion on OSX Lion with "MacFUSE
compatibility layer" checked.
However by typing in Terminal sshfs I got the error "command not
found".
I followed your recommendation in another post and tried "sudo ln -s /
Applications/Macfusion.app/Contents/PlugIns/sshfs.mfplugin/Contents/
MacOS/sshfs /usr/local/bin/sshfs"
However "/usr/local/bin/" didn't exist on my system yet?!
So I created it and copied sshfs there and tried to execute it.
The error I get now is "-bash: /usr/local/bin/sshfs: cannot execute
binary file"
SSH connection to the remote host works fine by the way.
Thanks for any advice, even I am a total noob :-)

best regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

SSHFS is not bundled with OSXFUSE and needs to be installed separately. Macfusion includes a very old version of SSHFS, that will only work if the "MacFUSE compatibility layer" option is checked during installation.

An easy to use installer package containing an up-to-date, stand-alone version of SSHFS can be downloaded from http://osxfuse.github.com. This package will install sshfs to /usr/local/bin.

Please see https://github.com/osxfuse/osxfuse/wiki/SSHFS for instructions on how to replace Macfusion's sshfs binary with the newer OSXFUSE version of SSHFS.

Regards,
Benjamin

You need to install the SSHFS package, too.

I downloaded and installed osxfuse-2.7.0.dmg from the above site on Mervericks. There is not /usr/local/bin directory. How do I mount without sshfs command?
