Hi, when I tried to install ntfs-3g as described in the FAQ
... I ran into the following:
Terminal:
brew install ntfs-3g
Updating Homebrew...
ntfs-3g: FUSE for macOS is required for this software. OsxfuseRequirement unsatisfied!
You can install the necessary cask with:
brew install --cask osxfuse
You can download from:
https://osxfuse.github.io/
Error: An unsatisfied requirement failed this build.
I then deleted it via the settings Panel, and installed "--cask osxfuse" via Homebrew, which turns out to be 3.11.2.
Also during installing it said
I'm a bit worried because so many things seem to have been installed. Did this go alright? It seems to work, i can mount and read&write on the ntfs drive.
Is ntfs-3g actually being further maintained? what does this warning mean?
I'm also asking cause I'd like to help out documenting / extending the FAQ / ...
coming more from an end-user perspective maybe I can do my part there. ;)
Also, is there a version with a mini GUI planned ? This should be not too complicated for the most basic and mainly used operations, for example r&w accesss on a bootcamp partition on a Mac, i guess?
A little programm which also explains a little bit to the end-user would be sth good 4 the world...!
thanks for the work and cheers
