Tier One Study Areas introduce students to fundamental issues and concepts in three study areas, or strands: Natural Sciences, Individuals and Societies, and Traditions and Cultures. Tier One courses should help develop critical thinking skills, provide opportunities for analysis and synthesis, competency in basic skills, and a foundation of knowledge in the sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Tier One instructors are encouraged to employ active learning methods that support student opportunities to work collaboratively, and to provide exposure to computer/multimedia applications.
Tier Two Study Areas are organized into four study areas: Humanities, Natural Sciences, Individuals and Societies, and Arts. Tier Two courses provide a more in-depth examination of topics/concepts introduced in Tier One courses. Tier Two courses should only be taken upon the completion of the relevant Tier One strand. Tier Two courses can serve as an introductory course for a minor, but it must be a first course so that students not minoring in the area are not at an academic disadvantage.

To be completed after Tier One, Tier Two courses offer more in-depth examination of particular disciplines. The Tier Two study areas are broadly defined and include a wide range of courses to meet students' varied interests. Tier Two courses are organized into the four study areas below. Recommended language, if applicable: This course will contain material of a mature nature, which may include explicit language, depictions of nudity, sexual situations, and/or violence. The instructor will provide advance notice when such materials will be used. Students are not automatically excused from interacting with such materials, but they are encouraged to speak with the instructor to voice concerns and to provide feedback.
Required language: Students are encouraged to share intellectual views and discuss freely the principles and applications of course materials. However, graded work/exercises must be the product of independent effort unless otherwise instructed. Genetically modified organisms are used extensively in agriculture. To assess potential side effects of genetically modified (GM) plant material on aquatic ecosystems, only a very small number of higher-tier studies have been performed. At the same time, these studies are particularly important for comprehensive risk assessment covering complex ecological relationships. Here we evaluate the methods of experimental higher-tier effect studies with GM plant material (or Bt toxin) in comparison to those well-established for pesticides. A major difference is that nominal test concentrations and thus dose-response relationships cannot easily be produced with GM plant material. Another important difference, particularly to non-systemic pesticides, is that aquatic organisms are exposed to GM plant material primarily through their feed. These and further differences in test requirements, compared with pesticides, call for a standardisation for GM-specific higher-tier study designs to assess their potentially complex effects in the aquatic ecosystems comprehensively.
I've got the book in printed form, ebook form, but I'm sort of looking for practice tests, quizzes based on each chapter, and maybe flashcards with questions. Any suggestions for any of these types of study material would be great! It would be even better if the material is digital that I could study at my computer or on my phone!
In addition to studying with Professor Messer, I've been using the "CompTIA A+ Practice Test 2021" app by ABC E-learning (on Google play). It's a good app for casual daily practice questions with reminders to take time for studying. When I have a break at work or have time to kill, I can flip through a few questions. Plus, you can select your projected test date and it'll calculate how many questions you'll need to master each day in order to be ready for your test date. It's been a good way to keep myself motivated since it's on my phone. I plan on taking the A+ and Net+ within the year.
