What are the differences between onbeforeunload and onunload ?Also I have a specific question related to it's use on the iPad...I have a page (myPage.html) where I am trying to show an alert when the page is closed (i.e. X is pressed to close the tab on iPad)

Using window.onunload , I am able to get an alert when user navigates to a different page from myPage.html (either by clicking on some link or doing a Google search while on myPage.html) . However nothing happens when the tab is closed from the minimized view (X)

The only reason I can think of why you would want to use onunload over onbeforeunload would be where your onunload code could take some significant time, and don't want the user to see a window that hangs while closing.

One significant difference (other than cancelability) between the onbeforeunload and onunload is that the former is triggered for download links and the latter is not. Example: download will trigger the onbeforeunload handler, but not the onunload.

Ventricular unloading refers to a reduction in left ventricular pressure and volume. By reducing pressure and volume, wall stress is reduced, and therefore myocardial oxygen demand is reduced, and in the setting of an impaired heart, there is better supply/demand matching.

In a review published by Uriel et al.,1 ventricular unloading is described as the reduction of mechanical power expenditure of the ventricle to minimize myocardial oxygen consumption and reduce hemodynamic forces that lead to ventricular modeling. Myocardial oxygen consumption can be reduced by decreasing heart rate, contractility, and/or total mechanical work. The total mechanical work of the heart per beat is referred to as the pressure-volume area (PVA). Lowering ventricular systolic and diastolic volumes and pressures minimizes PVA.1

Transvalvular axial flow pumps, such as the Impella platform, aspirate blood directly from the left ventricle and eject blood into the aorta, resulting in reduction of left ventricular pressure/volume, reducing myocardial work and myocardial oxygen demand. In this way, they provide effective ventricular unloading.2,3

Venting uses passive strategies to treat ventricular distension including techniques such as atrial septostomy. These passive techniques differ significantly from active volume and pressure unloading. Active volume and pressure unloading are unique to transvalvular axial flow pumps, such as Impella and reduce the pressure-volume area (PVA), oxygen consumption, and ventricular work. Additionally, unloading reduces wall tension, increases coronary flow,2,4 and provides a platform for transitional support for patients on other MCS platforms such as ECMO.

While VA ECMO improves oxygenation and maintains critical organ perfusion, it also increases ventricular afterload, myocardial oxygen demand, and decreases myocardial perfusion.5 Addition of ventricular unloading with Impella mitigates these effects of ECMO with reduction of left ventricular pressure and volume and myocardial oxygen demand.2,3

Loading and unloading tells launchd to load the configuration file. Whether it runs the program and under what conditions is determined by the plist file. A job that isn't currently running can be started with launchctl start ... and stopped with launchctl stop ....

A live load simply means that the driver waits for the load to be loaded and unloaded and then continues his trip with the same trailer. The pros to live loads are that they can save time for shippers, shippers do not require space to store the containers and no shunting truck is required.

Drop and hook loads are exactly what they sound like. A driver simply drops off their loaded trailer and picks up another trailer that is ready to go from the shipping location. This can save the driver a couple hours at each drop off/pickup location which can add up once the driver is done his shift. The other advantage to the drop and hook model is that it allows for more flexibility for the shipper. It gives them more time to load and unload trailers without the pressure of a driver waiting for them.

Inland carriers can assess detention as a trucking-related fee. The purpose of driver detention charges is to compensate the driver when they are delayed, generally due to not being loaded or unloaded in a timely manner.

Like demurrage, driver detention impacts both imports and exports. For imports, drivers have to wait for cargo to be unloaded before they can return the empty containers to the port. For exports, drivers have to wait to bring the loaded container to the terminal for onboarding onto the vessel.

If you know in advance that the container will take longer to load or unload, negotiate with your truck carrier for a time extension. Otherwise, make sure you know your allotted free time and when the clock for billing starts.

If you need to store your cargo for a longer amount of time and want to avoid per diem detention charges as you approach your LFD, work with a warehousing and distribution company like World Distribution Services. From New Jersey to Los Angeles, WDS offers convenient warehousing facilities strategically located near ports and marine terminals. WDS will even unload containers for you.

Driver Detention: A fee, typically charged at an hourly rate, that a carrier may assess when driver wait time, either at the origin/pickup or destination/delivery location, exceeds the given free time for loading or unloading the truck.

We went from a 9660 to a 9670. Son in law runs it. He said the 9670 screens and such make it easier to run. I still think old red combines so I don't understand everything it tells me or is capable of. The big difference is unload speed. Our trade in combine was rented to someone having a bad fall (fire I think) His only complaint with the 9660 was it took forever to unload.

Actually that leads to my biggest complaint with it. It unloads so fast its difficult to keep from splattering when loading a truck. It isn't a big deal unloading on the go in the cart, but if you load into trucks parked along the road you can tell every place you unloaded from the corn on the ground.

It's common in logistics and warehousing to be asked: What is cross-docking? What is transloading? What is the difference between cross-docking and transloading?

Cross-docking is unloading inbound freight from one truck, holding it in a warehouse or terminal for a very short period of time, and loading it onto another truck for outbound shipping.

Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) means the seller bears all risk and costs associated with delivering goods to the named place of destination ready for unloading and cleared for import. This Incoterm places the most responsibility and risk on the seller.

Under the Incoterms 2020 rules, the buyer is responsible for all costs and risks associated with unloading the goods and clearing customs to import the goods into the named country of destination. The buyer selects a customs broker and is responsible for entry fees, duties, taxes, inspection fees and storage fees if goods are not released in a timely manner. The seller must coordinate with the buyer's customs broker to provide any documentation required for export clearance.

Buyers using DAP are responsible for unloading the goods at the named place of destination and clearing customs for importation. They need to ensure they have the necessary resources, including a competent customs broker, to handle import procedures, entry fees, duties, taxes, inspection fees and potential storage fees if goods are not released promptly.

A live unload is very similar, except it occurs at the delivery point, where the driver is dropping off the shipment after hauling it from the starting point. Just like a live load, the driver will need to wait nearby while his or her truck is being unloaded. The driver will then take the empty container to a container yard, or proceed to the next pick up point.

For many drivers, the live load and unload is an extra burden that they are not being compensated for, and if there are delays or scheduling mishaps, can cause great difficulty, especially when they have future deliveries already on the books they need to get to.

As an alternative to live loading and unloading, the drop and hook shipping model has been developed. This allows drivers to schedule a load in advance and when they arrive for pick up, the cargo has already been loaded on to the container. All the driver needs to do is hook up the trailer to their truck and drive away.

Project files are based on the MSBuild XML schema. To look at the contents of newer, SDK-style project files in Visual Studio, right-click the project node in Solution Explorer and select Edit . To look at the contents of .NET projects, first unload the project (right-click the project node in Solution Explorer and select Unload Project). Then, right-click on the project and choose Edit .

Conversely, the British make a careful distinction between the two terms. They define a dock as an enclosed region in water, separate from the open sea or ocean, that is used primarily for trade and shipping operations such as loading and unloading ships, carrying out repairs etc.
