POSUG meet this Saturday

Alright, I'm going to start by wearing the dunce hat and admitting that I mucked up the last mail.
As a result of which I am going to be the source of more mailing list traffic.

So, here's the story so far...

Sriram Narayanan (of Belenix fame) is going to be in Pune this weekend and we were looking to get together this Saturday at the ThoughtWorks office at Yerawada to discuss some of the interesting developments around OpenSolaris.
Here's what I'm proposing.

Proposed agenda:

• Discussion on recent developments: Moinak and the guys at BOSUG had a pretty interesting discussion on the days to come; Ram should be able to fill us in and facilitate an interesting conversation around how these changes affect us. Also, as with BOSUG, we might have to rethink the name of this group.
• Alternate Package management systems: the Belenix team has been playing around with a number of alternatives to IPS and Ram has indicated that they're leaning towards RPM (but not before investigating Conary). It would be interesting to see how their efforts are proceeding and what that means vis-a-vis the fact that OpenIndiana has decided to go with IPS
• Hosting solutions: I've been watching Entic for quite some time and was quite impressed with their hosting capabilities as well as their creative new offering. I'm sure we'd also love to hear about experiences with other solutions like Joyent, et al
  
• Other topics of general interest
