I recently tried installing OpenBSD v2.5 on my computer & everything
worked fine except the network interface. DNS works just fine, and the
system is able to connect to other hosts, but once connected the transfer
rate is horribly slow. I'm using a PCI RealTek 8029-based ethernet card
(which is an ne2000 clone), connected to a Motorola cablemodem, and the
generic kernel that came on the CDs.
The same hardware setup works fine with Linux and FreeBSD, so I'm
assuming the problem is in the software setup. I've tried both using DHCP
setup and setting things up manually (using the settings I know worked
from the other OS's), both with same unhappy results. Can anyone offer
any suggestions?
Thanks,
