Dear Friends & Supporters -

Earlier today, I was informed by our friend Hope Dudley of Who Killed
Our Kids (WKOK) that the Reverend Al Sharpton has declared Monday,
Nov. 23rd, 2009 a “National Day of Outrage” against violence.
According to Rev. Sharpton’s National Action Network website (http://
www.nationalactionnetwork.net/) this is a time to “stop the violence
and be our brother’s keepers”.

On Thursday evening, I was among those who participated in the
candlelight vigil on Ridgeway Avenue for Candice Tait who was
senselessly gunned down recently - an innocent victim who just
happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. This and many
other vigils we have participated in offered a stark reminder that
these acts of violence do not discriminate – families are torn apart,
mothers and fathers are left to grieve, babies are left with the
burden of never knowing their fathers and mothers who were taken too
soon by violence. These violent acts reach across barriers of race,
religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, etc. When one of us is a
victim – we are all victims. It is time to stand together and voice
our outrage - enough is enough!

We are asking everyone who has been affected by gun violence or any
type of violence to join us in gathering on Monday, November 23rd,
2009 at 2:00 PM in front of the Hamilton County Justice Center, 1000
Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. We will be circling the
Justice Center and praying for peace and healing in our city. Mothers
who have lost sons and daughters to violence will be sharing their
anguish, and the families who have endured solved and unsolved
homicides are asking for your support. If you are not able to attend
the event, please take a moment wherever you are at 2:00 PM on Monday
and pray for an end to violence in our city!

For more information about the event, please contact Hope Dudley at
513-404-3063 or Peggy Harris at 513-207-1816

I hope to see you standing in solidarity with us on Monday afternoon.
Please share this important information with your email contact
lists.

Peace -
