Summer Volunteer Opportunities
 
OSU START Orientation Tabling - June, July, & August
  • 7:30-9:00am on June 25 & 28; July 9, 13, 19, 23, & 27; August 24 & 31 (incoming freshman)
  • 8:00-9:00 am on June 30; July 16 & 28; August 27 (transfer students)
  • Memorial Union Commons (dining area)
  • Table with Andrea to educate incoming students about recycling and sustainability on campus. This is an invaluable opportunity to educate students before they even start classes here. Also help monitor compost bins, as the breakfast will be zero waste for the first time, this year. Free breakfast for volunteers.

Red, White, and Blues Riverfront Festival Recycling - July 3rd and 4th
  • Any time Saturday 5:00-10:30pm and/or Sunday 11:00am- 10:30pm
  • Corvallis Waterfront
  • Help check on recycling and trash bins at the festival, changing out full bins. The local scout troop will also be on hand to help out. Event website

da Vinci Days COMPOSTING - July 16th -18th
  • 2-hours shifts on Friday-Sunday, July 16th-18th (see registration form)
  • Eastside lawns, OSU, between 11th & 14th, and Campus & Jefferson Way
  • SIGN UP HERE
  • We want to compost at da Vinci Days for the first time and you can help make it happen! This is a big undertaking and an enormous opportunity to both divert organic material from our landfill and educate people from our community and beyond about composting! Sign up for 2-hour shifts to staff a recycling station - greeting attendees and helping them sort their waste into compost, recycling, and trash. Training provided. Sign up for one 2-hour shift and receive a FREE DAY PASS or sign up for 4 hours or more and receive a FREE ALL WEEKEND BRACELET. Volunteers will also receive a Green Team t-shirt and volunteer button. 16 and older please.

  • Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm

  • Reser Stadium - meet at loading dock on opposite side of 26th Street across from LaSells
  • Staffing bins at the stadium gates before the game, plus round up of the bins at half time. You get into the game for free.
