ANNOUNCEMENTS
· Volunteers still needed this weekend, especially to educate tailgaters! Please consider signing up (RSVP not required but appreciated)!
· Also coming up: Our first volunteer gathering! Campus Recycling and the Waste Reduction group of the Student Sustainability Initiative will have a gathering on Monday, November 9th, 4:00-6:00 pm at the Student Sustainability Center. The first hour will focus on training and the second on brainstorming projects. Mark your calendars!
UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Stadium Gate Recycling: 10/31 OSU Football Game
· Sat, Oct 31, 11:30 am-1:00 pm
· Meet at Reser loading dock directly across the street from LaSells at 11:30 am
· Because football fans cannot bring outside drinks into the stadium, they have always been required to throw away everything in the trash. Help Campus Recycling with its new initiative to assist fans in sorting their material so that we can isolate recyclables and keep them out of the landfill! You will join other volunteers to greet fans as they come in to the stadium, sorting their material into recycling, glass, and trash. Later, during half time, you will move all the bins to the loading dock and see how much you've collected. OSU student volunteers will receive free tickets to the game!

Educating Tailgaters: 10/31 OSU Football Game

· Meet in front of LaSells at 10:00 am
· Campus Recycling would like to start a pilot project to educate tailgaters about recycling! We will visit tailgaters in 1 or 2 areas around Reser stadium, answering questions about recycling and trash disposal and handing out bags to collect recyclables (recyclables will then be collected from them later in the day). Volunteers will be trained beforehand. Currently no recycling is collected other than what tailgaters bring home with them and trash is often littered all around the grounds, so this is a great opportunity to raise awareness!
