Ostinato for Eve-ng: how to change keyboard mapping ?

Hi All,

I've just bought Ostinato for Eve-ng standard editon.

I would like to switch to a Frenck keyboard.

I didn't find a way to update the keyboard mapping from the control panel.

Any idea ?

Hi Damien,

Unfortunately, at this time only the US keyboard layout is supported on the Ostinato for EVE-NG.

We will include more keyboard layouts in the next version.

I tried to add other keyboard layouts to the image and while it works in the console, it doesn't work in the GUI for some reason.

If I'm able to get it to work in the GUI, I will share the steps.

To change the keyboard layout for the Ostinato node in EVE-NG, can you try editing the Ostinato node and adding "-k fr" to the QEMU custom options?

The Ostinato drone agent port 7878 is available - which means you can run the Ostinato GUI natively on your host (windows/macos) and connect to the Ostinato agent within EVE-NG (File | Add PortGroup in the GUI).

The bad news - you will need to buy the Ostinato single for your host OS to get the native GUI

The good news - native GUI with your preferred keyboard layout.

  Fair enough ;-) I've just bought Ostinato single fir MacOS and I guess it'll be more confortable to setup the Ostinato in EVE-NG as a drone.

  BTW, I would like to put a static IP on eth0. Just did it with ifconfig but I would like to configure it permanently.

  Which file should I update with the IP address of eth0/mgmt ?

Why do you want to use a static IP on eth0? eth0 has DHCP enabled and should get a IP address using that mechanism. Are you working in an environment without a DHCP server?

Yes actually my eth0 is connected to an OOB VLAN without DHCP.
