Ostinato customer Leslie recently reported that the per-stream stats feature was not working for him in certain cases and the Rx stats was always 0.
Upon investigation, I found that this problem is specific to Linux and only when using vlan tagged packets with the per-stream stats feature.
The culprit turns out to be libpcap - the packet capture library.
