Srivats,
I tried to IPv4 send packets from machine 1 to machine 2 using Ostinato. There are 2/3 hops between machine 1 and machine 2. But I'm not geting the packets at machine 2 which I sent from machine1. When I started traffic from Machine 1 , it reaches upto hop1 and after that its die. It doesn't even reach up to hop2.
Same thing when I tried with normal ICMP ping it works fine. It reaches from Machine 1 to Machine 2 through hops.
I ran Ostinato on machine 1 to send packets From Machine 1 to Machine 2. But packet reaches up to Router only. While in case of normal ICMP ping It reaches upto machine2.
I created ICMP packets stream in which I gave Machine1 mac address into source mac address and Machine2 mac address in destination mac address.
Can you please suggest where I'm making mistake? What should be proper the Source and Destination mac address while creating stream to send IPv4 packets from Machine1 to Machine2 ?
Thanks
Jigar

Jigar,
the destination MAC address should be the one of the router...

Hi Mendioroz,
I have already tried with mac address of router. But it doesn't work.
When I try with ICMP ping it reaches upto Machine2. And I also captured icmp packets at various hops and I observed that mac address of source and destination changes at diff hops.
Is there any option on Ostinato tool while making stream to send packets through multiple hops?
Thanks

Hi Carlos,
I have already tried with one of the router mac address But it doesn't work. When I send packets with normal ICMP ping it works properly and also I observed that when I captured icmp packets at diff hops, source and destination mac address changes accordingly hop.
Is there any option to set while making stream for sending packets through multiple hops?
Thanks

If you are capturing the packets, then just compare the packet generated
by ping and the one generated by ostinato.
The destination MAC address has to be your next hop (the router).
The destination IP has to be your final destination.
The checksums have to be ok.
