Hi Team,

I have a Testbed and was looking for traffic generator. Installed Ostinato on Fedora and started the GUI.

After selecting and starting traffic on one of the ports, I could see sent on a port (enabled to send streams) but receiving traffic on different port.

Please find attached topology. I would like to know if I am missing anything here.

Did you go to SU to run the program.

Not much info there... Topology doesn't matter much with this since ostinato has no view into your network configuration. But, here is my troubleshooting:

1) look at the drone output from fedora. I do "nohup drone &" and then just look at the nooutput file. This will tell you if your drone is being spoken to.
2) run tshark on your fedora machines to see what is going on. You can just dump the packets to the screen. This will tell you if packets are going across.
3) make sure your hosts and/or VMs are running promiscuous mode/allow all. This will allow non-target addresses to be seen by the cards and was my major problem when I went to a VM solution.

when all else fails (and by that, all those things are running fine but your packets still aren't coming through), butt your machines together and see if they get their traffic that way.

Nikhil,

It is not clear at all to me what is the problem you are facing.

Please elaborate on what you are trying, what you are expecting to
happen and what is happening instead.
