I am running Ostinato 1.3.0 and have followed the guide to get stream statistics working, but I can't seem to get any stats beyond the Total stats and Duration (always shows 0). No Average stats. Is this a limitation of Ostinato on macOS?

I have configured a stream signature and use Tx and Rx ports on the same laptop. Both ports have Stream Statistics enabled. I've followed the guide step by step.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jim,

The reason you don't see other stats like avg is because the duration is 0 (can't divide by 0).

So the question then becomes why is the Tx duration 0?

* Are you sending unidirectional or bidirectional traffic?

* Do you select both and "Start Transmit" together on both ports?

* Did you stop the Transmit before fetching stream stats?

Can you post a screenshot of your stream statistics window?

Srivats

Hi Srivats,

Thanks for your reply.
  • Traffic is unidirectional, just UDP streams
  • Yes, selected both ports and hit Start Tx on both
  • Yes, hit Stop Tx with both ports selected after Tx completed
I also experimented with interleaved vs sequential streams and have the same issue.

Here is what my Stream Statistics window looks like:
