Hi Srivats P,

We are evaluating traffic generator tools for PDU Ethernet simulation and monitoring. and have come across Ostinato.
We require some additional information regarding the tool's features and capabilities.

Our specific queries are as follows:
1. Is a demo version of the tool available for evaluation?
2. we plan to utilize it for AUTOSAR PDU testing, specifically to simulate Ethernet packet and monitor these packets. Can the tool accommodate this requirement?
3. we currently have an ethernet database in '.arxml' file format, Is this format compatible with the tool?
4. if a demo version is not available, what is the minimum cost has to be paid to utilize this feature?
5. Could you provide details on the support option and features included at the stated cost?

Thanks a lot, in advance and best regards,
Dhanashri Desai

Hi Dhanashri,

Thank you for your interest in Ostinato.

Here are the answers to your questions.

1. Is a demo version of the tool available for evaluation?

A web demo is available at https://demo.ostinato.org

2. we plan to utilize it for AUTOSAR PDU testing, specifically to simulate Ethernet packet and monitor these packets. Can the tool accommodate this requirement?

I'm not an AUTOSAR expert, but from what I understand AUTOSAR PDUs are encapsulated inside TCP/UDP payloads of an Ethernet packet. If my understanding is correct, yes Ostinato can help you. But we would need to understand more about the IPDUs and the requirement of TCP vs UDP as encapsulation.

3. we currently have an ethernet database in '.arxml' file format, Is this format compatible with the tool?

Again, I'm not an AUTOSAR expert and I couldn't find any details about an "Ethernet Database" element in ARXML file format. We currently don't support ARXML but since its standard XML we can implement a converter or importer for it.

4. if a demo version is not available, what is the minimum cost has to be paid to utilize this feature?
5. Could you provide details on the support option and features included at the stated cost?

You can look at the various packages and their pricing at https://ostinato.org/pricing. For best support, I recommend you go for the Business Bundle.

I suggest we have a call to understand your requirements and see if and how Ostinato can help you.
