I have a question, when I send traffic from ostinato, from the machine to another, in the Stream statistics GUID 101 show Total TX packets = 464,622 but also show Total Pkt Loss 464,622 , However the packets on the target machine are Total Rcv packets = 464,622.

Why does ostinato consider lost packets if the packets arrived at the destination?

Regards

Where is the destination? Is it connected to Ostinato? Where are you seeing " Total Rcv packets = 464,622." ?

Ostinato can count Rx packets only when it receives it. e.g. a topology like this -

Ostinato ---- DUT --- Ostinato

Only when both Tx and Rx is at Ostinato, it can count both of them and calculate packet loss.

Not sure if I'm explaining this well - please ask if something is not clear.

Hanns,

So there is no actual packet loss - as you correctly pointed out.

The mistake you are doing is that you are using two different GUI controllers each with its own Drone agent.

Do the following instead. On the Ostinato GUI running on Ubuntu machine -
* File | Add portgroup
* Enter IP address of the Mac box
* Now you should have two portgroups - one local and one remote
* Sent traffic from the local portgroup's enp0s25
* In the port stats window, select the columns corresponding to the local portgroup's enp0s25 and the remote portgroup's en0 and then click on Stream Statistics.
* You should see packet loss as 0 for GUID 101
