Help needed compiling from source for school

Good morning

I'm a teacher in highschool and I'd like to generate and inspect network traffic for my students; unfortunately I need a free solution for my school, so I would like to build Ostinato 1.2 for Windows from source.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to achieve this goal?

I downloaded and installed "qt-opensource-windows-x86-5.12.0" with all packages (is there something I should have avoided installing?).

I downloaded and installed "Winpcap 5.1.72.1206".

I downloaded and extracted "protoc-23.3" zip file.

I downloaded and extracted "ostinato-master.zip".

FIRST OF ALL WHAT BITNESS OF THE PREREQUISITES IS NEEDED? 32 OR 64?

Then...what are the detailed steps on configuration and usage of the prerequisites that I have to take to get a fully working binary executable file?

What are the environmental variables I have to set and what should their values be?

I will say however that building for windows is a bit tricky. I suggest you drop an email to sup...@ostinato.org from your school email with details about what you plan to use it for and we can work out a mutually beneficial deal
