It says 10G/25G/40G 

1. If i have the right kind of server, the turbo drone will run IMIX traffic at what rate max ?

2. Why do you say port and user in the license ?

My topology the turbo drones DUTs are multiple, so from that controller (agent) i am sending 4x25G ports  using 2x25GNIC cards.

Since it is one controller, traffic generator, the license can allow to send on all 4x25G Ports ?

3. For non-turbo package, i can send on 8x25G ports with 4x25G NIC cards in the multiple port groups concurrently ? the throughput will be limited but i can run 25G ports  with the non-turbo package license ?

IMIX traffic will run at full line rate of 10G, 25G or 40G depending on your license type. You can see details of performance for various packet sizes at Turbo Transmit add-on – Ostinato Traffic Generator for Network Engineers

The number of licenses depends on number of users and number of ports

The controller is only the GUI (or python script). The agent generates the actual traffic (More at Architecture - Ostinato Guides)

Since you have 4x25G ports, you will need 4x25G Turbo licenses. Since these 4 ports are spread over 2 NIC cards, these 2 NIC cards can be both on one agent PC or on 2 different PCs (one NIC each).

 

3. For non-turbo package, i can send on 8x25G ports with 4x25G NIC cards in the multiple port groups concurrently ? the throughput will be limited but i can run 25G ports  with the non-turbo package license ? 

Yes, you can.

3a. Will the generator agent work up to the licensed speed of 40G on a 100G NIC port ? (of course with right server type).

Hi,

Even if your port is TX only or RX only, if you need higher rates then you would need Turbo licenses. So you would require 4 Turbo licenses for your case. You may however choose not to use Turbo licenses on the Rx only ports as long as you don't need RX features like stream stats with higher rates on those ports.

Our licensing is simple by design - a low price per port. Discounts are available for bulk license orders (> 10).

Yes - a turbo-tune script is included with your Turbo download sets up affinity amongst other performance related tuning.

You need to run just one Drone agent on a PC irrespective of the number of NICs hosted on the PC.

To use a Turbo 25G license on a 100G port you will need to set the port speed to 25G manually.

Same as above - To use Turbo 40G license on a 100G port you will need to bring down the port speed to 40G manually.

Alternatively, you can go for a Turbo 100G license. These are not available publicly yet, but you can write to support at ostinato dot org to get pricing for those.
