I have created a stream on one of my ports. I highlighted the column and clicked on Start Tx but nothing happens. I previously had a stream working on this port but I had to delete it and recreate it. Is there some place I can go to look at errors to see what is causing this?

My GUI is running on my laptop but I am connecting to a remote drone in my lab topology.

Thanks in advance,
-Justin

I have the same issue:
MacOS 10.12.5
Ubuntu 14.04
Ostinato v8: a7bfec8ecb93@

I have started both GUI & drone from the command line to see what messages are being sent recieved.
GUI message > In StartTx, method = 8:startTransmit
GUI is waiting with > In processStartTxAck

drone receives > method = 8:startTransmit

no transmission occurs, the GUI shows that the "Transmit State" remains "Off"

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thx,
tom

Tom,

Did you click on "Apply" in the GUI after creating/editing the streams?

If so, can you send me the full logs of both ostinato and drone - from the start till the time you hit "Start Tx"?

Srivats,
Yes, I have a stream defined to simulate a NTP request. I have worked on this issue for a couple of days trying to determine why things are not being transmitted.

I have also added a device to see if that would resolve this issue.

After I make changes to the stream or device settings, Apply is selected.
I then selected the Port I want to transmit on.
Select capture on does work
Selecting transmit does nothing.

I have restarted Obstinate multiple times and re-created the stream multiple times (and Applied); I just have not been able to see this work.

FYI on v7 on Windows the same type of stream does work, but I really need the device feature in v8, it will be very beneficial.

thanks for you quick response.

Srivats,
I think I found my issues.

1 - due to my starting drone manually, there were several instances of the drone process running.
     stop Ostinato
     killall drone
    this resolved that issue.
2 - I had not properly configured the stream packet rate, it was set to burst with a count of 1
I set the stream to send packets, 1 pkt/sec for 10 seconds

what I was seeing was that the 1 pkt was sent, but the GUI did not have time to indicate that the transmit state was On.

cheers,
tom
