Hi Team,

I am using Ostinato for sending stacked vlan packets to other machine connected by cable.

But on the other side , I am not receiving 802.1ad packet , instead receiving two 802.1q tagged

Packet (observed in pcap). Not only on receiving side , sending side also I took packet capture , actually outer tag TPID

Should be 0x88a8 but pcap showing 0x8100.

Is this the issue with ostinato or libpcap? Please let me know your comments.

Thanks & Regards,

Uday

There is no such known issue.

Please provide the following for analysis -
* Saved Stream (in native ostinato format)
* Captured PCAP file on sender/receiver

Hi Srivats,

Please, find the attached stream, sender pcap, receiver pcap. Let me know where exactly the issue is.

Your stream is correctly configured.

in.pcap has TPIDs as 0x88a8 and 0x8100, while out.pcap has TPIDs as
0x8100 and 0x8100 - assuming out.pcap (with incorrect TPIDs) is at
Ostinato egress and in.pcap (with correct TPIDs) is your capture at
your receiving device, did you name the files incorrectly? Assuming
you did that (i.e. in.pcap is at Ostinato egress), Ostinato is
generating the TPIDs correctly, but somewhere in between the Ostinato
egress and your ingress some device is rewriting the TPID.
