While signing in, select Yes at the "Stay signed in?" prompt if you want to go straight to your mailbox next time (not recommended for shared computers). Alternatively, check the "Don't show this again" box and select No to be prompted for your password each time.

Microsoft always keeps an eye out for unusual sign-in activity, just in case someone else is trying to get into your account. If you're travelling to a new place or using a new device, we might ask you to confirm that it really is you.

to try to regain access to your account, you can try to use the Recovery Form:

Microsoft provides a recovery form that you can fill out to verify your identity and regain access to your account. Here is how to use it:

@LeonPavesic Thank you so much for giving the tips. I did try to fill out the form it gave me error message (The Microsoft account you've entered does not exist.). seems like they permanently deleted that account, I don't know how they can do that. I have that email last 35 years and has all my all info, history data. Thanks again for you time for replying to this message.

on Wednesday this week one of my Windows 11 computers running Outlook 2019 stopped connecting to my Hotmail email account. In an attempt to fix this I tried to create a new profile. I have added other email addresses to this profile with no issues. One outlook.com and the other gmail.com.

Is there any update on this thread? If the issue has been resolved, please mark the helpful replies as answers, this will make answer searching in the forum easier and be beneficial to other community members as well. Thanks for your understanding.

Based on my test on Office2019, I was able to successfully configure Hotmail account, and considering that you have taken some troubleshooting, I recommend that you try uninstalling and re-installing Office2019.

I just had the same problem on windows 11. It was working yesterday. I looked at the clock on my laptop and it was set forward by 6 hours even though it is set for automatio update. I corrected the time and Outlook/Hotmail worked again.

I cannot receive the code to access my account even though my email and password are correct. Every way I am blocked. I have spent hours trying to figure out a way to gain access. My account is treated as "Basic" even though I pay monthly, so I do not have access to support. The Sales chat box does not have access to accounts. Endless loops.

Hotmail, which is known as the pioneer of web-based email service, played a significant role in shaping the people used to communicate over the Internet realm. Hotmail was founded by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith on 4th July 1996. The word Hotmail is acquired from the concept of HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language)and "mail" signifies its online nature.

At that time, emails can only be accessed by desktop applications, which requires some specific software installation.Hotmail transformed it by providing users with the capability to access their email accounts with any web browser.A year after its launch, www.hotmail.com gained massive popularity among internet users. Attracting the technologygiant Microsoft. After getting a glimpse of this platform, Microsoft finally decided to purchase www.hotmail.com in 1997,making it a part of Microsoft Network.

Dark mode is a display option in many desktop/mobile applications. It helps to change the display colour scheme from a light background to a dark one. The key function of the dark mode is to reduce eye strain & improve visibility in low-light conditions.

If you've changed your primary email address and are no longer using Hotmail, you may be thinking of permanently deleting a hotmail.com email address. In this article, we provide an easy-to-follow instruction that will help you along the way.

Hotmail.com email addresses are owned by Microsoft, so your Hotmail account is a part of your Microsoft account. This means that to delete a Hotmail.com email address, you'll have to delete your Microsoft 365 account that is associated with this address.

After you request to close your account, Microsoft will not delete it right away. Your account will be deactivated first and you will have 30 or 60 days (depending on your choice) to re-open it in case you change your mind. This helps prevent fraudulent activity and protect your account.

We recommend saving old emails into another online account because this will make your Hotmail archive easily accessible. Keeping an archive of your old email online is also safer than storing it on a hard drive.

VaultMe can migrate your Hotmail emails into almost any email provider's inbox (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and others). It can also transfer your OneDrive files, contacts, and calendars to another account.

You should make sure that none of your online accounts are linked to the unwanted Hotmail address before you delete the account. You will have to go through all services associated with the old hotmail.com email address one by one and replace the address there.

Your account will continue to receive emails during the 30 or 60-day waiting period, even if you don't sign in to it. You can use this period to notify people in your contact list that your Hotmail address is no longer in use and will be deleted soon. To do that, you can send a batch email or you can create an automatic reply. Temporarily setting up automatic replies in Hotmail before account deletion

All data associated with your Hotmail / Microsoft 365 account will be removed. You will not be able to use any Microsoft services that are linked to this email address. However, you can avoid losing your email history and your OneDrive files if you migrate them to a different account before requesting cancellation of the account.

Deleted Hotmail accounts are closed permanently and cannot be recovered. We recommend copying your Hotmail emails and OneDrive files to a different account before closing your Hotmail account. This way, once a Hotmail account is closed, your content will be safely stored in a different account.

Hotmail account can not change automatic to outlook account .so if you create a new Hotmail account now, it will change automatically be an Outlook account. if you have more question related to why hotmail account changed to outlook so please touch on hotmail phone number

It seems that these domains first check the domains A record, rather than the MX record, if a connection can be established mail is routed to the IP Address from the A record. If a connection can not be established on port 25 then the MX record is used.

Edited it add: Our hosting is not done by ourselves but a third party, and I know that server DOES listen on port 25. (our MX record was deleted by mistake by them a few weeks ago). As such I find your explanation does not match what I have seen, and I expect there is a different explanation.

However I have managed to get onto Hotmail support and they are (finally) looking into it. IT took quite a bit of work on my part to get through to them and get them to understand that the issue is receiving email from these domains rather than sending email to them.

After waiting for 24 hours, hotmail (outlook.com) support confirmed there was an issue but were unable to do anything about it and escalated the issue. A new ticket number was allocated, but they were unable to provide any additional details such as how to contact the escalation point or what the new ticket number was.

This is consistent with my findings that they were routing the email to somewhere other than the mailserver specified by the MX records. Hence the server they were sending the mail to did not know about us so rejected the email.

Whatever the actual cause was, I know for a fact that any email sent from an outlook.com, hotmail.com or live.com account was not being directed to our mail server. There were no connection attempts at all. They were sending it somewhere else.
