I'm excited to see this WordPress plugin:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ostatus-for-wordpress/

I haven't tried it yet; I'm interested to see how well it works with BuddyPress; how well federation works with StatusNet and other OStatus-compliant systems; and how hard it is to set up.

Kudos to the authors!

PuSH is outbound-only.

Thanks for spreading the word!

The first version only supports:

* Following a blog-user on status.net/identi.ca
* Commenting on blogposts via identi.ca/status.net

ToDo:

* full magicsig support
* sending comments on the blog to each involved and salmon-enabled
profile
* subscribing to any ostatus-enabled profile (not shure how to
integrate that nicely into WordPress, perhaps with BuddyPress)

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or
improvements,

Matthias (one of the authors)

Hi Mathias

I just made a small test of your extension and it works well. The only
problem I had was the nickname. My Statusnet use the last nickname for
the new subscriber (the wordpress blog).

I wrote a post on my blog about your extension :

> * Commenting on blogposts via identi.ca/status.net
What do you mean exactly ? In my test, I subscribe my wordpress to my
statusnet account. Then I published a post on wordpress, he appeard on
StatusNet. I answer to this notice on my StatusNet, but my wordpess
never receive this answer. Does this mean something goes wrong on my
wordpress instance ? Maybe not if i read your todo list
> * sending comments on the blog to each involved and salmon-enabled profile

I think it's a very good idea. It wiil be nice (a revolution :-) ? )
if everybody can subscribe to a blog with OStatus from their prefered
social network and comment on their social network with their answer
going to the comments of the blog's post from the author. I thinks
it's a very "natural" way of commenting today :-)

Not sure you understand all my explanation (sorry for my porr
english :-) ).

Salut Philippe,

have you used the main blog url (to subscribe to on status.net)? This
isn't supported yet, because one blog could have more than one user...
if you want to subscribe to your blog-profile, visit
http://philippe.scoffoni.net/wp-admin/profile.php#webfinger to see
your identifiers (you have two "user...@domain.com" and the author-
url).

Please let me know if this will solve your problem.

Thanks,
Matthias

Hi all,

Cool stuff!

Would it be a completely stupid idea if one could comment the blog
post using ostatus compatible account.
For example like :

"@http://philippe.scoffoni.net/ostatus-wordpress/ Cool stuff, that's
the right way to go!"

Of course the URL could be shortened and everything.

Now when I'm quickly thinking of it, it would need only salmon
endpoint that is discoverable.

With the similar logic any "meh" or "Like" feature could be
implemented if someone finds them useful.

Cheers,
