If your iPhone starts glitching, the first step you should take is to restart your phone. In some instances, the apps on your phone may be the reason for glitches. If all fails, one should think about taking the iPhone to the nearest Apple istoreor to replace the phone altogether.
Many types of Iphones glitches may come as a result of running high-powered apps, way above the running capacity of the phone's GPU and on some occasions, a decrease in your battery will also lead to glitches. If you face the same problem again, you can visit any of the nearest iStores or contact any 3rd party websites for screen replacement. Some of the popular sites include maxbhi, amazon, xfurbish.com and so on...
my iPhone x just started doing something similar a couple of months ago. the screen had never been replaced, i cleaned the whole phone+speakers regularly and i always had a case on it. it was in the shower and a little water got on top of the case and it shut off and would not turn back on. the next day i finally got it to turn back on but face id didn't work and then a couple weeks later the screen turned static (like you said just like an old tv).
Here's what happened and it's glass physics. People complained for years, their iPhone screen cracked too easily, even with minor drops and it costs as we know a lot to replace the screen on an iPhone. So, the last couple generations of iPhone have a new formula glass (most theorize, from Corning), which makes it much harder for the glass to break in a fall. But here's the rub, to make glass harder to crack in fall, means the glass by nature is easier to scratch. NO ONE has yet figured out how to make cell phone glass that is equally more difficult to break as well as scratch.
So yes, you likely won't have to pay for a broken screen, but it turns out we either live with micro scratches or put a good screen protector on. And if you do have micro scratches, putting a screen protector on now, will hide them and prevent future scratches. If you believe that this is a manufacturing defect, then you need to take your phone to either the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. There an Apple Technician can evaluate your phone and determine if they agree with you. If they do, then it would be covered by the basic Apple Hardware warranty. No one here (we are not Apple employees) can determine if your claim is valid or not.
Same here, it's not my first iphone and I am by nature super careful because I don't want to have scratches or dumbs early on and not even few weeks in and there is already a scratch, like WTH?! How did it happen I barely took it outside my home.
right, but like KaeBFly said you could always try and ask at your local AASP or Genius Bar. If its just on the display I think the cost would be closer to $250, because they would just change the display.
Glass, which isn't protected can scratch. I wouldn't EVER own an expensive ($1000+ device) without putting a good quality screen protector on it. Every new iPhone I purchase is fitted with a screen protector, before it is ever turned on for the first time.
Micro scratches on an unprotected glass screen will NOT be considered a manufacturing defect. Once you own the phone, it's up to you to protect the screen. This is one reason Apple sells glass screen protectors and installs them free of charge in their stores all day.
hind sight is 20/20. I agree and i have always put the covers on within the first week. unfortunately i was on travel the first week this time. sooner or later the phone will inadverently be put in a bag or pocket with keys and get scratched. the disappointment is really just in how sensitive the 14 pro max really is to scratches. it is not as hard as previous models. i believe something happened in production
Did you click and read the link I posted above? It explains very well why the screens can scratch easier, but are harder to break. Most people would prefer NOT to spend hundreds of dollars on a new screen when a $15 screen protector can prevent any scratches.
You can show it to Apple, but they are most unlikely going to replace the phone for a micro scratch. You should just accept that without a screen protector, these screens can get minor scratches. And if you put a good quality screen protector on now, it will not only likely hide the micro scratch, but prevent any new scratches.

I have iphone mini 12. I recently broke the screen and, for speed, got a non apple screen replacement which is fine - I then got a 'unknown part' message in settings which I have read a number of times but cannot get rid of the notification on screen about the message - can anyone help - it is really annoying!
Thank you - phone works fine - I understand apple telling me in case I didn't know but have got message from them now loud and clear! Notification been on for over 3 weeks now - do you know when it will disappear please?
The message will never disappear completely. It shouldn't show up on your primary screens every day to remind you after a few days, from what I understand. In other words, it will ALWAYS show up in settings. Your phone just won't publish it on your home screen daily.
The message will eventually go away, but you can't stop the message. Understand the speed part, but when you let a 3rd party replace parts on your iPhone, they don't have access to authentic parts and Apple can and often will refuse to provide support to a device which has non-authentic parts installed and certain features, such as FaceID and True Tone often no longer work on devices with 3rd party parts.
It's not the kind of language that Apple would use to describe it. They're far more diplomatic and non-judgmental about it. My understanding is that Apple's primary concern would be if third-party repairs were botched where something other than the screen assembly might be damaged.
Sorry - I am not being clear - there was a message daily for 3 days which then disappeared but now I have a constant alert/notifications on 'settings' as though I have never read the 'important display message'. I click on settings/ read the message and then close settings. Despite this I cannot get rid of the red icon circle with a 1 in it informing me there is an unread message in settings - despite reading the message over and over! This is what i need to go please - if possible- or if it goes on own how long until it goes!!
No, I understand. The notice in Settings will be there forever and cannot be removed. If you're happy with the screen on your phone, just ignore it. It's not like you spend a lot of time in the settings app.
This time I chose to replace the screen at Best Buy, as an authorized Apple repair location for an estimated $200. Best Buy, however, wouldn't replace it because they stated the cracked display has to be sent back to Apple and they can't send in a non-Apple product.
Ha! True...I guess my question should have been, Will I waste my time traveling to the Apple Store to have them tell me they won't replace the non-Apple display? Or will they charge more than the $200 because I am not replacing a non-Apple display?
I think you will waste your time taking it to an Apple Store to be replaced, I believe they will refuse to do so and due to the changes you made they cannot accept it for trade-in. But you can always click on the Get Support link at the top right of this page and try. And a $50 3rd party display is pretty much going to be garbage.
I recently updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to IOS 17 and everything has been working really well. I woke up this morning and my iPhone's touch screen was unresponsive and won't let me unlock my phone. I found a way to restart my phone by clicking the top volume button, then the bottom volume button, and then holding the lock button, however that did not fix the issue. I work primarily off of my phone so I need to get this fixed ASAP. Any tips?
The primary fix for an unresponsive iPhone touch screen is to: just press volume up button, then down button( just press it, don't hold it ) right after it hold the lock button until apple logo appears( don't click on swipe to shutdown ). This will fix a frozen, unresponsive or stuck screen.
