How to check the version on an agent

Greetings,

I'm able to verify the version on the server

# ./ossec-analysisd -V

But i can't find this option in an agent asset.

Please advice.

Hi,

On Windows, there is a version.txt in the agent directory. The exe files themselves don't seem to have the version field populated.

On Linux, if you run "manage_agents -V" you will get the version number reported.

Yeah, but not the one you think -- it is showing the version of the server, not the version of any agent.

I'm still hoping there is a way to query at a centralized place (the server) what version of ossec each agent is running.
