wui installation for OSSEC

Hello,

I am having a very difficult time getting the wui (OSSEC Web UI OSWUI
v0.3) to work on Ubuntu 8.04. I can see the ossec is running
correctly when I run 'ossec-control status'

ossec-monitord is running...
ossec-logcollector is running...
ossec-syscheckd is running...
ossec-analysisd is running...
ossec-maild is running...
ossec-execd not running...

but when pointing firefox at http://localhost/ossec-wui I get 'The
requested URL /ossec-wui was not found on this server.'

I have re-installed the Web UI several times and have read the
instructions over and over, but I can seem to get the Web UI running.
I have also googled every variation of error message I can think of,
but no luck on other message boards.

I can confirm the following are in place:
# Apache with PHP (>= 4.1 or >= 5.0) installed. (with posix support)
# OSSEC (version >= 0.9-3) already installed
# 'It Works!' when pointing a browser at http://localhost (means that
Apache is running ok?)

I am moderately good at Linux but have no Apache skills at all,
hopefully someone has some good ideas?

Hi,

That 's probably not an ossec-wui issue but rather a misconfiguration of
apache.

Make sure the directory exists or is accessible with the right
permissions (chmod and chown command would be helpful)

I am running ossec-wui on an ubuntu box with xampp and it is running
perfectly.

Can you post the lines you added to httpd.conf for ossec?
Where did you place the ossec-wui files?
What version of apache do you have?
