I am looking for any information on the policies /management of osprey platforms/poles in regards to the policy of managing the nest and using a deterrent to keep out geese before the osprey return.  is there any written guidelines , newspaper articles, stories about how it is done?  I am in Portland Oregon and gathering information about the ways others have managed the issue of geese taking over the nest before the arrival of the osprey
Thank you so much.

I don't know if this article will help in any way, but I rememeber last yr there was a goose that took over a Osprey nest. Well they have put something up. Maybe you can figure out who to get hold of thru this. I hope this link works, if it doesn't let me know and I'll try & copy/paste.

I think the utilization of deterrents in osprey population management is critical and that we could have an entire document devoted just to guidelines for deterrent usage.  Here are the documents that are currently used in Florida.
