These are all Fort DeSoto osprey nests. That nest on the snag/bush is about 10 foot high. Park staff has been great to rope off the area.
We are going to end up with ospreys nesting on the ground here pretty soon.

Subject: Osprey, Osprey and Osprey nests!
Barb, got pics of couple of Osprey nests today. Kathy has probably sent you pics of the last 2 nests...they are from Ft D.
First 2 - this nest is at the foot of Park Blvd Bridge, on the east side. Did not see any birds near it, assuming it is Osprey nest. Wonder if it's the pair that has been looking for a home in that area for the past couple yrs.
Next set - Ft D - the nest on the short tree. They seemed to have gotten it done fairly well...still very low, but a tape (off limits) has been placed around it, so...maybe.
Last 2 - Ft D- definitely a 'what are they thinking' nest. One of the worst locations I have seen.
