The people on the ground are shouting "make sure to take a photo of the
nest"! It was windy and cold. We started at 7:30am on the install of the
new camera and finished at 11:30am. The camera was tested from a laptop and
the picture looked very good. The software is being configured so we should
see images on the site soon. www.dunedinospreycam.org

The osprey activity was intense. There still appears to be more males then
females in the vicinity. The sky was overcast and movement was quick. The
ospreys landed on the platform quite a few times. One osprey would land
momentarily and then the next osprey would barrel down and the first one
would take off. Many ospreys were soaring and diving high up in the
distance. We heard their vocalizations. Several fought over a fish. At
one point two ospreys were within 5 feet of me about eye level. I was 187
feet away from the nest at that time. Really, for anyone that loves ospreys
Dunedin is one of the best places to go.

Once we were away from and off the nesting structure the male landed on the
nest. The female was sitting in a tree with another male. That male was
eating a fish. The female left him and joined the male in the nest. Then
they sat peacefully facing west. They can see the water and channels that
lead to Honeymoon Island. I'll send the rest of the pictures.

Thanks Barb for all the photos!! Absolutely thrilling to see your
endless efforts and great success! I have to say, though, I still
cannot get over seeing an osprey/osprey nest and a palm tree in the
same photo. LOL Our local tiki bars bring in palm trees each year
but I've yet to capture an osprey in one!

Thanks again,
