Hello all,

in Vespucci 0.908b1146 I have some issues about the map background tiles:

First: the tiles "OpenSteetMap (Mapnik Black&White) are not displayed at all.

and

the "Skobbler" tiles seems to be quite outdated ... what about removing that entry?

See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tiles with a hopefully up-to-date listing of OSM based tile sources.

As the documentation notes, vespucci uses https://github.com/osmlab/editor-layer-index (actually a stable fork of the repo), just as iD.

Please check if the layers are still available and create a PR against the repo if there are changes.
I'm not aware of anybody using that for anything, definitely none of the mainstream editors.

Hello Simon,

there is much activity in the mentioned repo of editor-layer-index the past days.
Thus the black-white layer and skobbler layer items seems to be refreshed.

Is that layer index loaded into vespucci each time the user chooses the layer menu inside the app,
or do we need a fresh pull of that index in vespucci's sourcecode?

The next release, in a week or so, will have an updated imagery list. Currently we don't fetch the list/don't have the capability to fetch it (given that I try to maintain a at least once per month maintenance release schedule not a big issue). The main problem is that currently the index is not versioned, once it is I'll likely switch to a more flexible system.
