Where are the 1-2 monthly updates from the maps?

OsmAnd gives 1-2 map updates per month.
where are the new maps?
The most maps from Europe are from March 3. up to March 6.
This is more then 1 month without update.

So please give us the new maps!

AFAIK the update of maps is postponed due issues with live update feature.

Or - but it is just speculation - future decreased update frequency may be a business policy to push users into live update subscription.

I agree! The update frequency of the maps is becoming too low.

At least let us know what is happening....or shall we look for a different app?

You can try http://extract.bbbike.org/ as an alternative service:

Choose Osmand offline map format for download.

But I have no clue about the real date of those offline maps from bbike.org.

It seems like fresh generation on demand
of map of chosen area and target format
from planet.osm,
limited by area 24mil sq. km and size 768 MB.

I don't use OsmAnd for car navigation either.

I have used Here as well as it is very good and fast, be it very limited in functionality compared to OsmAnd.

However, your comment "The blog is down, no map updates due to "improvements", it was nice while it lasted." is of course not a correct one.

First of all: the blog is not down. It is still there at osmand.net.

Secondly: There is one month no update and you stop using OsmAnd?

Here updates every 3 months on average. If it is for the map updates you should not switch to Here but stick to OsmAnd (or switch to Navigator with monthly updates or switch to the other Open Source navigator Maps.me with irregular maps updates).

The map updates was delayed due to fix of OSM Live and the regular schedule now will be aligned with once a month. The maps will be always dated by 1st day of the month.
