I first wanted to download the database and extract the addresses, but Pieter Colpaert made a few python tools to extract the data into csv files. I ran into this yesterday evening. So: cudos to him as it eases my task a lot. Thanks a lot Pieter.
You can find his work at
https://github.com/pietercolpaert/crab-toolsSo, I took the csv files, wrote a simple shell script and a simple python script to convert the csv files into a Belgium address osm and used that to create an OsmAnd address obf.
==How to use it ==
- Download the zip and unpack it in your osmand folder on your phone/tablet
- In OsmAnd goto Search -> Address Search (the house icon)
- Select the "Belgium-vlaanderen address" map
- Search your city/street/housenumber
- After finding use "Show on map" or "Set as destination".
- OsmAnd will automatically use the Belgium map to display the
location. This does mean that you need the normal Belgium map to
navigate and display.
= Note that searching the smaller villages/hamlets, which are not
directly indexed, can take long as the OBF is big.
= Note that when searching outside Vlaanderen you should use the standard Belgium map.
