How do I change the units of measurement on OsmAnd v3.5.5?

Hi

It maybe that I am too thick, but I cannot achieve the above mentioned subject matter. The OsmAnd instructions seem to differ from the menustructure on my version.

Also, please can any of you give me a link to clear instructions on how to manually create a route.

You have to go into Settings -> App profiles. Just take one and modify it.

In the first sub-menu item your can change the units of measurement. There you can also determine whether they are profile specific or shared through all profiles.

I have done this, but I continue to have problems with the settings
reverting. My basic issue is that I am in the US but want metric units.
With driving region set to auto, it seems to reapply the US default of
feet/miles/etc. at times. So I switched my driving region to Canada, on
the theory that Canada is metric with similar driving rules (but surely
much more polite than Boston!).

It seems that units should default to a "region-appropriate" setting,
and if changed, not be affected by driving region.
