I am using the Thailand map to navigate around Chiang Mai. I don't read Thai script and when searching for street names using english names, being an english speaker, very rarely is anything found. Unfortunately the street names are all in Thai when the map itself is viewed. Am I missing something or is there an alternative solution?

If not these maps do lose their effectiveness.

You have the gui language and the map language (General settings -> Preferred map language). The map language gives you the option to use local names or in your language or english (default fall-back language).
Of course the objects need to have english names, which is mostly only valid for big city names.

So even if you set the map language to english you will hardly find any more (I expect).

However: if you mean that you want the "scribbly" thai characters displayed in "latin" characters, you will be disappointed. That is not at all possible.

OMG, I can't believe it was that easy!

I had both set to system default which I thought would have worked. When I set them to English it changed the map language. Just what I wanted.

Thank you 😊
