I think Herbert means the symbol bottom right (at least on my screen) to launch the quick actions panel. I've not played with it but it seems to be a pane you can put your choice of icons on to do things in fewer clicks than otherwise.

Yes, you are right. It is a very useful feature to set up. I have easily set up these quick actions:

Add OSM Note

Add map marker

Add GPX waypoint

Add Favorite

Unmute Voice

Night mode

Show Filling station

Show Food

Add action allows you to add new ones

Click on it first time and start adding actions.
