App Icon

Hi

I have noticed that the Application icon is changed for the OsmAnd~ ARM and x86 versions but still old one for "-default" builds (OsmAnd).

I am looking for the builds on http://download.osmand.net/latest-night-build/

Is it something that will be fixed soon?

Hi Victor. You probably tried comment blog not forum. I'm sorry. I have big trouble with spam. When I unblock antispam evening for comment in blog, morning there are about four spams. Similar is situation on forum. I had to close forum for anonymous comment before many days :( I was disabled not working BotBlocker and activate another antispam now. I still searching some solution. There is not easy situation in WP. Your comment doesnt saved. Sorry for that.

Victor, Last night I took a few quick minutes to update the logos/splash screens on osmand.net with our new logo,  did not have much time, but wanted the new look to be ready for our new release. :-)

 

Have only saved some quickly amendmended files on osmand.net, let me know if you want these committed to github, or want to re-create them differently/more thoroughly.

Ok, I updated all screeshots which were outdated.

 

Pls. note that I also added a hillshade screenshot again to the Play websites, it is clearly the one attracting most users, as very few other apps can produce anythig comparable ... ;-)

But wouldn't it be misleading to have a screen shot of hill shading if the app won't do hill shading without an additional download? At least, I have not been able to figure out how to get the map to look like that with OsmAnd+.

Hi

I noticed that the Application Icon for OsmAnd (free version) is updated in most places but not for the icon that placed in applications list or on main screen.

Did I missed something?

The icon on your mainscreen is a shortcut placed there by google Play. It doesn't get updated at all. You have to remove the icon on your main screen and drag the item from your aplications list to your main screen to get a new shortcut.

The icon in the applications list should be updated (I think), but more or less the same works there. Uninstall the app (don't remove app data) and reinstall it.

Note that uninstalling the app (any app) doesn't influence the shortcut on the main screen.

I already tried to uninstall and install the app back but it always shows the old icon still.

You can see on second attachment from applications list.

I also tried to do this on my Samsung Phone too - same result.

New icon in Google Play, new icon for downloaded apk file but there are new icon for application itself.

The OsmAnd~ app icon updated without reinstalling.

Too bad. But that's how it worked for me. Remove shortcut from main screen, uninstall app, reinstall app.

Just uninstalled Application, restarted, Installed back from Google Play instead of apk download - same....

I think the issue is related to Google Play cache, please try to clear it. 

I had the same experience. 

As I see now icons are udpated everywhere.
