I've installed OsmAnd recently, and I use it for hiking and walks (pedestrian mode) instead of my old Garmin eTrex Legend HCx. Mostly I find my phone with OsmAnd more convenient than the Garmin portable navigator: I can record gpx and see my current track in real time as on the old navigator; I can see my current height, the current time and the distance I have walked (when gpx recording is on) directly overlayed on the map, while on Garmin I had to switch to a separate screen to see these data. But I miss one feature: on the old navigator, it was very easy to put a flag sign (user POI) at my current position and give it a name. In OsmAnd, I can press and hold some point on the map and add it to favorites. OK. But it would be more convenient to use my current position for this. Is it possible?
