Instead of setting hmRendered true or false for complete renderers (default renderer: hmRendered = "false", touring view: hmRendered = "true):

Wouldn't it be better to set
hmRendered = "false" in default mode and in car mode,
hmRendered = "true" in bicycle mode and in pedestrian mode,
and use this setting in each renderer?

It would make all renderers more flexible.
When users view cities, default mode will show a non-overcrowded map. When users go hiking, they will enjoy a more detailed map in pedestrian mode.

Christof

Hello Christrof,

But this would be rather intransparent to the user, because hmRendered is an internal feature.

I think I prefer the obvious UI way of being able to sett different Map styles for different profiles, like the more detailed Toring view for profiles where you want much detail, and the lighter Default style where you want less detail.

As an example: Whe you are driving (=CAR-mode) on desert tracks, you may need all the detail you can get (to see smaller tracks where no paved roads are present). So it would be absoluetely counter-productive to use hmRendered=false in CAR-mode in this situation.

Best,
Hardy
