I moved some of my favorites to a new category and want to delete the old (empty) category - how do I do that?

There is no way to select a category and all it does when clicked is expand or contract. Press and hold does not select either. Seems like the delete button is only for favorites, not for categories.

I looked at the favourites.gpx file and it has only categories with favourites in them, the empty one I want to delete, is not there.

Thanks for reading and I'd appreciate your help.

The favourites file on your SD-card is your backup. The favourites that OsmAnd uses are stored in the /system/data/app location which you can't touch.

If you are in the favourites screen, you can also tap the delete (waste bin) button. It will then ask you to select the category and/or favourites.

Thanks a bunch! I swear I could not see the check/tick tiny boxes in front of categories after clicking on delete - I have the black theme on and it's barely visible. Thanks again :o))

The problem with dark symbols on black theme is solved, please download the latest nighty-build.

Thats helpful thanks

I like to store and edit the favourites.gpx file on my PC and transfer/replace it with adb.

Can you confirm that this is the actual location of the favourites:

/data/data/net.osmand.plus/files/favourites_bak.gpx

?

Because, like you say, when I copy "favourites.gpx" into "the /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files" folder, the app shows the previous incarnations as well as the new ones, so I guess it is merging the /data/data file with the new SD card one.

Thanks.
