The poi symbols are too small.  How can I increase their size?  I can increase the font size but the symbols are still minute.

What kind of device do you have? Which resolution?  Which osmand version?
Maybe unchecking settings> online maps > high resolution display might do the trick

I have the same issue, and I tjhink the icons are shown smaller now than in a previous version (or maybe I'm gettibng older ;-).
The resolution of my device is 320×480px HVGA @ 180ppi. is that a high resolution display? I have the option for high resolution display marked, but if I unmark it, I don't see any difference w.r.t, icon size.

I have forgotten what the resolution is but I have an "Eee Pad Transformer". I do not use on line maps, only off line.

That is a low resolution display so the icons should be not to small, but the screen is probably rather small too. So the result is small. There are discussions about screen magnifier,  but it has no priority I think. I think the icins are a little bit smaller then before, and redesigned. In the past the comments were that the icons were to big and bright and overflowing the map.

Why did I get that reply which is clearly meant for robertogeb? as my screen is 10 inch and the resolution was about as high is it gets when I bought it.

Hello, I think, the very small icons began with Thread "Icons to big in actual nightly builds" (12. Aug.). I had the problem that the icons were much to big, resulting in memory over. After that he corrected version of osmand nightly build had small (very small) icons, which could not be changed. If I remember right, the versions before allowed to change the height of icons (e.g. "P" for parking) and the height of the street names synchronously, the actual versions change street name height only, but I am not sure. I use a SGS4, so it is no big problem for me, because I have activated the 3 tap modus on my unit and can make the display region around the tap point almost 3 time bigger.

I wish I understood any of that. I might have got some benefit i.e. what is SGS4? or 3 tap modus?

Thanks for trying,

Harry.

Sorry,
SGS4 = SamsunG smartphone S4
3 tap modus: it is a kind of handicaped mode for SGS4 user with bad eyes. You point 3 times fast onto the same place on the display and a virtual display with 3 times the original pixel amount in each direction is simulated. Each pixel of the original display is now represented by 3x3 pixels (remember, the SGS4 has FullHD). With to fingers moving synchronously on the display you can move around in this virtual display. Other functions (1 tap, double tap, zooming with 2 fingers) work in the normal way.
