Hi Rick,
as far as I remember, we now always use "waypoint". "Intermediate point" is deprecated everywhere, the only occurrence was left in our test codes for the voice propmts. I have corrected it there now (in the latest nightly build). I have also added a test button for the "You have reached your waypoint" prompt to that test code, it had been missing.
But functionally: I have tested ALL propmts using the en-tts, and they all sounded all right. (Including te "U-tur n propts you mention above")
But reading your note above again, I think the issue may be the following: The waypoints the prompts are about are the ones you add to your navigation via the funtion "Set as destination" (available in the Favorites menu, the context menu on the map screen, the search menu, etc.) or "Add as waypoint" in the map context menu. These are the ones we formerliy referred to as "intermediate points".
It sounds to me like you are talking about <waypoints> you have in your GPX file (and possibly you are even talking about "route according to a GPX file", right?). I am not sure if waypoints in GPX files are currently honored equivalewnt to waypoints added to a navigation via "set as destinatinon" or "Add as waypoint".
Although I guess they could... If you can confirm that this is exactly the issue you have, maybe you can open an issue on googlecode (
http://code.google.com/p/osmand/issues/list) so we can decide if this can be fixed as an enhancement.
Thanks,
Hardy
